When you arrive at Damman Airport, you’ll proceed to the immigration area where you’ll present a completed Saudi Government landing card (which you’ll receive on board your flight) and have your passport stamped. You’ll then collect your luggage from the baggage reclaim area, and complete all custom and baggage inspection formalities.
Saudi Aramco maintains a general office at the airport that is staffed 24 hours a day. In addition, the Expatriate Recruitment Division maintains an office for the specific purpose of meeting new hires, and this is open whenever new hires arrive. A company representative will meet you upon your arrival.
In the Saudi Aramco office, you’ll be issued with a temporary identification card and information on the local orientation that you’ll attend on one of the first few days after your arrival. A company representative will then take you to your accommodation.
Please note that in accordance with Saudi Arab Government immigration authority directives, all unaccompanied females arriving In-Kingdom for the first time must be escorted by a Saudi Aramco representative from the immigration area to their residence location.
Saudi Arab Customs
You need to be aware that Saudi Arab Customs officials may perform a thorough inspection of your luggage as all articles entering Saudi Arabia are subject to close scrutiny.
Settling-in Allowance
Saudi Aramco pays all new hires a settling-in allowance with their first or second paycheck. This is to cover miscellaneous expenses that may be incurred just prior to mobilization and en route to Saudi Arabia (for example the cost of a hire car, public transportation to the airport, or an overnight stay to catch an early flight). Single/bachelor status employees receive a payment equal to 60% of their base pay. Family status employees receive a payment equal to one month’s base pay. A family status employee traveling on their own will receive the 60% payment. If their family mobilizes within one year, they will then receive the balance of one month’s base pay.
