Ras Tanura (also referred to as Najmah) is Saudi Aramco’s ‘Jewel community by the beach’. If you join us to work in Aviation, Marine Operations, the Ras Tanura Refinery, or the gas plants at Berri and Ju’aymah, then Ras Tanura will be your home.

Situated on the Arabian Gulf, Ras Tanura is approximately 40 miles north of Dhahran, and has a population of around 1,800. The community offers a wide variety of essential facilities, including a Community Information Centre, bank, housing office, travel/insurance office, barber and beauty shops, and laundry.

The central recreational complex is located next to the Ras Tanura School, and features a large swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, aerobic classrooms and a soccer field. Like all of the main Saudi Aramco communities, Ras Tanura has an attractive 18-hole grassless golf course and driving range, but this course is unique in offering views of the Arabian Gulf. The Ras Tanura fitness trail, the beach path, and the Splash Pads are also popular with many residents.

The children of Ras Tanura can play in the park next to the Surf House. Alternatively, they’ll find plenty to do at the Youth Centre - a fully supervised recreational facility offering table tennis, pool tables, electronic games and a television room.

Step outside the Ras Tanura main gate and you’re close to the town of Rahima. Here you’ll find a small collection of gold ‘suqs’ (markets), several grocery and appliance stores, auto parts and repair shops, photo processing, a pharmacy, fresh fruit and vegetable markets and several restaurants.
