Baytree gets a colorful makeover from AOC UK employees
LONDON, United Kingdom — On February 18-- Aramco Overseas Company (AOC) UK Ltd. visited the Baytree Centre,- a Brixton charity that offers training and educational support to women and their families, to lend a hand and help re-paint the interior of their Centre. With a pot of color in one hand and a brush in the other, AOC painted the town red (well, actually magnolia yellow!) and gave the place a well-earned facelift.
Fifteen AOC employees volunteered their time at Baytree, where staff prepped, painted and carried out a full clean-up, completing the job in record time. Talina Padilla, head of the Volunteer Service at Baytree, commented: “We were really impressed with how professional and organized the project was. There was a great atmosphere and the team were very friendly. We are extremely grateful for AOC’s contribution.”
Ahmed M. Al-Zayyat, managing director of AOC, stated: “Corporate social responsibility is a crucial element of our company’s DNA. We want to become part of the fabric of this city and support the local community in any way we can.” He added that, “connecting our employees with different groups in society through various outreach activities not only promotes volunteerism but is also a platform for great teambuilding exercises.”
The Baytree Centre offers support to disadvantaged women and girls from over 80 different nationalities, the majority of whom are considered “hard to reach”, facing difficulties with social and economic integration. Baytree’s vision is to provide supportive pathways toward social inclusion for females through educational programmes. Through various activities, the charity’s staff provides support to their beneficiaries to help them achieve their personal and professional potential. The Baytree Centre offers care to over 1,000 recipients each year and has helped over 2,000 girls go on to higher education or secure a paid job.
