HAWIYAH, March 18, 2009 -Senior management paid a visit recently to Hawiyah and Khurais for updates on the projects.

Saudi Aramco president and CEO Khalid A. Al-Falih led a team consisting of Amin H. Nasser, senior vice president of Exploration and Producing; Majid Y. Al-Mugla, executive director of Project Management; and Mohammad A. Al-Juwair, general manager of Southern Area Project Management.

During their visit, executives received a briefing on the commissioning status of Hawiyah Natural Gas Liquids Plant from Khalid E. Anazi, senior supervisor of Area Maintenance, followed by a report on the Hawiyah Gas Plant Expansion Project presented by Fahad D. Qurashi, supervisor of Operations Engineering

Executives then toured both projects before departing to Khurais, where they took a tour of the massive project led by Abdulmohsen A. Mukhaild, superintendent of Khurais Producing Maintenance Division.

They then received status updates on the project from Khurais Projects Department manager Ahmed A. Sulaim and Faisal A. Hajji, supervisor of Operations Engineering.

Al-Falih and the other executives took time to meet employees working at the site who shared their experiences working on the project.

“It was very encouraging to see the enthusiasm of the young operators,” Al-Falih said. “They fully understand what is required to complete the task at hand.”

Al-Falih also stressed that while progress is important, safety is more important. “Safety is the top priority,” Al-Falih told employees.

“We hope you make your deadlines, but not at the expense of safety. Your safety is the most important concern on this mega-project and every project.”
