POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Pediatric Dentist is a primary and specialty oral care provider. Incumbent will focuses on the oral health care and unique needs of young people, infants, children and adolescents, including persons with special health care needs. The Pediatric Dentist is concerned with the child's growth, development and total health care. The incumbent focuses on prevention, early detection and treatment of dental diseases, implement preventive dental health habits and keeps a child free from dental/oral disease and keeps current on the latest advances in dentistry for children. The incumbent serves as a liaison and consultant to the Medical Organization and as the final authority within the Dental Services Department regarding the above matters.
SELECTION CRITERIA:
As part of the Pediatric Dental Unit the Pediatric Dentist is directly involved in the pediatric dental needs of 50,000 Aramco dependents under 13 years of age as well as other children eligible for treatment within Aramco guidelines. The successful applicant should be Board certified in Pediatric Dentistry and be up to date with child treatment modalities, have a good rapport with children and be experienced in the treatment of children with special needs, cleft lip & palate, interceptive orthodontics and treating patients under GA in an OR setting. Although the positions are initially being opened for Dhahran, successful applicants must be aware that they are likely to be assigned to either the Al-Hasa or Abqaiq Dental Clinics according to operational need.
DDS, DMD or equivalent from an approved Dental School.
License to practice dentistry in the country or state of origin.
Post graduate study in Pediatric Dentistry with either a certificate or master's degree to be eligible for certification by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry or equivalent from Europe, Australia, New Zeeland and South Africa.
Five years devoted solely to the study and/or practice of Pediatric Dentistry.
Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Must be able to adjust to a group practice in an industrial setting.
Must demonstrate an ability to deal with a multi-national patient population.
Subscribes to and is never in violation of standards of professional and company ethics.

The Dental Services Department (DSD) is an intricate part of the Saudi Aramco Medical Services, providing full scope and state-of-the-art dental care to eligible Saudi Aramco employees and their eligible dependents and other eligible recipients. Although administratively distinct and often functioning within its own facilities, DSD and its personnel coordinate with physicians and medical staff to provide comprehensive healthcare. DSD has 6 satellite clinics. Dhahran Dental Clinic offers the following Specialties: General Dentistry, Dental Therapy, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Endodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics and Preventive Dentistry. Abqaiq, Ras Tanura, Al-Hasa, Udhailiyah and Tanajib offer the following services in these district dental clinics: General Dentistry, Dental Therapy, Preventive Dentistry, Endodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontics, Prosthodontics, Orthodontics and Oral and Maxillofacial Consults.
