Position Description:
We seek an experienced CO2 Capture Specialist to join The Research & Development Division. The Research & Development Division is establishing an ambitious research program in the area of CO2 capture from which it is expected that ground-breaking socio-economic carbon management technological solutions will emerge. The principle focus and motivation for establishing the research program will be to attend to growing global needs for energy products and addressing the increasing manmade emission challenges facing the associated extra demand for liquid petroleum fuels and products. As future international regulations seek to restrict CO2 emissions, Saudi Aramco is seeking ways to resolve increasing volumes of man-made carbon in both a sustainable and financially enhancing way without disruption to global economic prosperity.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:
The selected candidate will be expected to address this specific challenge head on
The focus of attention will include carbon capture from stationary and mobile sources, and development of CO2 and carbon-based product
Working alongside existing activity, with select scientists and engineers, the candidate will be a globally recognized leading professional respected by International and National authorities and carbon management practitioners
The candidate's main role initially will be establishing a high class research and development team, justifying expenditure on required financial and human resources
Eventually the role is expected to develop into directing conduct of the research program to a well articulated business plan and managing the delivery of the program through planning, coordinating, and consulting
The candidate will have responsibility for building business cases for deployment and commercialization of the products of successful research and development, with an expectation that finding and identification of new opportunities for CO2 capture, disposition and use will define the distinctive nature of the candidates overall contribution and govern performance


Minimum Requirement:
Ph.D. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. A minimum of 10 years of industrial experience related to CO2 capture and sequestration. 20 years of experience in managing and coordinating research and development program is preferred.

Experience should cover:

Ability to identify significant improvement opportunities in existing CO2 capture systems and also to explore revolutionary new capture and sequestration concepts
Demonstrated ability to develop technologies from fundamental laboratory to commercial scales
Exceptional technical knowledge of carbon management technology available and be able to represent new concepts and ideas in a compelling manner
Insightful and globally knowledgeable in societal and regulatory aspects of carbon management
Exemplary network of internationally recognized authorities that can be used to bring momentum to the research program under management
Outstanding track record of achievement in technology delivery and research program leadership
Demonstrated innovation skills related to delivery of distinctive research performance
Superior Interpersonal and communication skills
Sensitive team building and team management skills
Possess presence, gravitas and strong oral and written communication skills when communicating to Executive level management
Comfortable with working in multi-cultural environments
High level of self motivation, initiative, integrity, and perseverance
Incumbent should have several publications and may serve as an expert reviewer for journals and scientific societies
Incumbent is likely to hold patents on inventions in areas of expertise. Incumbent will have had experience as a research project leader
Should also have had experience in developing research projects to be carried out by more junior specialists
