The Exploration Organization primary responsibilities are finding and delineating new oil and gas fields, and characterizing the company's large portfolio of oil and gas fields and reservoirs for field development. The Organization has six departments: Area Exploration (oil and gas exploration), Reservoir Characterization (reservoir geology and geophysics, geosteering, modeling, and groundwater), Resource Assessment (pore volume and resource assessment), Exploration Operations (geophysical acquisition and processing, and cartographic support), Exploration Technical Services (geological, geophysical, and data management), and Upstream Ventures.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Saudi Aramco is seeking an experienced Palynologist to join the Exploration Organization in Saudi Arabia.
Plan, perform and fully document palynological analyses to provide age and palaeoenvironmental interpretations for exploration and field development. Provide rapid response operational analyses at the office or well site. Train in-house palynologists.
SELECTION CRITERIA
MSc and five years industrial palynological/biostratigraphic experience, PhD preferred. Experienced/familiar with Gondwanan Paleozoic palynological zonations, biostratigraphic software and principles of sequence stratigraphy.
