The Exploration Organization primary responsibilities are finding and delineating new oil and gas fields, and characterizing the company's large portfolio of oil and gas fields and reservoirs for field development. The Organization has six departments: Area Exploration (oil and gas exploration), Reservoir Characterization (reservoir geology and geophysics, geosteering, modeling, and groundwater), Resource Assessment (pore volume and resource assessment), Exploration Operations (geophysical acquisition and processing, and cartographic support), Exploration Technical Services (geological, geophysical, and data management), and Upstream Ventures.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Saudi Aramco is seeking an experienced Petrophysicist (Resource/Reserves/Basin Evaluation) to join the Exploration Organization in Saudi Arabia.
Conduct regional basin studies and evaluations of the petroleum system components by integrating available geological and geophysical data to create regional maps, develop new play concepts and document play fairways. Requires advanced data integration expertise and a high level of computer mapping skills with one of the major software packages.
SELECTION CRITERIA
A bachelor degree in geology, geophysics or related field, with preference for advanced degrees. Skilled in computer mapping applications, basin analysis, regional geology, sequence stratigraphy and/or structural geology. A minimum of 5 years experience in the petroleum industry.
