Position Description:
We seek an experienced Research Scientist - Process Chemist to join The Research and Development Center. The Research and Development Center's mission is to conduct pioneering research, introduce new technology and provide specialized technical services that will enhance Saudi Aramco profitability and productivity in a cost-effective, timely and collaborative manner. The R&D Center in Dhahran currently has positions in the Upstream and Downstream research programs in the areas of:
- Petroleum Fuel Formulation
- Crude Oil Separation
- Water Systems

Duties and responsibilities include the following:
Conduct pre-feasibility and full feasibility studies of oil-based fuel reforming processes
Oversee the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management (EPCM) of future fuel reforming demonstration projects
Lead the detailed engineering design effort in conjunction with selected licensors for large scale hydrogen production processes
Provide hands-on assistance with the commissioning, operation and maintenance of pilot demonstration and pre-commercial oil-based fuel reforming units
Liaise with production & facility planning personnel to ensure that oil-based reforming technology can be deployed in various Saudi Aramco assets within the scope of downstream and strategic R&D activities
Train young Saudi engineers, while keeping abreast with the engineering and scientific developments of oil-based fuel reforming technologies
Assist with project management requirements of the oil to hydrogen program

Minimum Requirement:
Education: B.S. Science/Engineering discipline.
Experience: Typically has thirteen (13) years of professional experience including at least five (5) years as a specialist with full responsibility for major technical work in incumbent's field. Incumbent is recognized both by management and colleagues as an expert. Incumbent will have achieved substantial industry recognition in incumbent's area of expertise. Normally will have published in significant technical journals and will have a history of active participation in technical society activities.
