Position Description:

We seek an experienced Electrical Engineering Specialist to join the Consulting Services Department (CSD). The CSD provides Saudi Aramco with effective specialized engineering consultations, introduces viable technologies and maintains quality standards. The Electrical Equipment Unit of CSD is a corporate advisory group providing high quality expertise and timely support in the areas of Electrical Equipment standards, materials specifications, best practices, innovation and new technology.

Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following:

Successful candidate is expected to provide general engineering consultancy focusing on Adjustable Speed Drives and Solid State Controllers, and its integration with the Saudi Aramco power systems and operations. His duties shall include:

1. Provide consultation to field operations of Saudi Aramco on Adjustable Speed Drives and Solid State Controllers to refineries, gas plants, and terminals, on an as needed basis.
2. Write company standards, procedures and best practices in area of expertise. Serve on international standards writing bodies as opportunity allows.
3. Provide consultation and review for capital project developments reviewing engineering design packages. Attend project review meetings in or out of the Kingdom, as needed.
4. Develop new technologies and apply these new technologies in Saudi Aramco operations. Apply for patents when appropriate.
5. Participate in providing training courses to developing engineers. Mentor developing engineers and be prepared to share his knowledge with them. Publish technical papers.
6. Lead or be a team member in special teams and task forces, such as incident investigation teams, special audit teams, value engineering teams, organizational improvement teams, etc.

Minimum Requirement:

Candidate must have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Other acceptable major will be Electronics Engineering. A candidate with an M.S. degree or Ph.D. is highly desirable. The candidate must be an experienced (10 years+) Adjustable Speed Drives (ASD) and Solid State Controllers professional with broad experience in electrical systems.

Additional Experience Required:

" Must be active in IEEE, IEC or other technical committees and have been a lead author of technical papers.
" Must be up to date with the latest ASD technologies and possess the drive to implement appropriately in field operations, in addition to the ability to commission and troubleshoot VSDs in the field.
" Field work in Company's plants will be required.
" Must be able to work in multidisciplinary, multicultural groups and also be able to pursue work independently.
" Must be willing to mentor local staff and provide training programs.
" Position is located in a central engineering group responsible for providing consultation to Company's operating plants.
" Must possess high academic achievement in a closely related discipline with preference for candidates with an advanced degree.
" Excellent English language writing and speaking and good presentation skills required. Excellent office computer skills required.
" Have had experience in developing research projects to be carried out by more junior specialists.
