Position Description: Saudi Aramco seeks an experienced LP Specialist to work with the Yanbu Refinery Department at its refinery facility based in Yanbu on the western cost of Saudi Arabia. Must be familiar with blending, scheduling and data reconciliation software and be aware of data reconciliation techniques to assure accuracy of refinery data. Be able to develop, maintain, run, analyze, debug, backcast, and reconcile refinery LP models and be able to perform mass and energy balances.
Responsibilities include:
- Runs the refinery linear programming model to determine optimal operation of the refinery.
- In association with operations engineering, obtain the latest up-to-date data on process units including yields, product properties, and "shift vectors" which are changes in yields, product properties with respect to a change in feed quality or process unit operating conditions.
- Works on material balances, data reconciliation, and process simulation to ensure that these important tasks are performed in a manner necessary to support the overall goal of improving the accuracy of the LP model.
- Runs process simulators with the help of operations engineers to provide yields, product properties, and "shift vectors" for various operating modes of the process unit.
- Maintains the refinery linear programming model by adding process units, deleting process units, updating yields and stream properties.
- Performs "backcasting" studies, product quality giveaway studies, model reconciliation studies and any special studies required by refinery management.
- Work and build the refinery blending and scheduling model using ORION, SHELL and/or AspenTech Blending and Scheduling tools.
Minimum Requirement: BS degree in Chemical Engineering with experience in PIMS software, operations and troubleshooting. A minimum of 9 years refining experience including at least 3 years of process simulator experience with various refining processes.
