Position Description: Saudi Aramco, long known for its leadership in oil exploration, production, and refining, is seeking experienced professionals to join our Pipelines, Distribution & Terminal admin area. We have an immediate requirement for experienced Safety Engineer who can fully transform SMS elements, expectations and processes into specific Safety actions that can be reliability adhered to in the operational fields. The Safety Management System requires a depth of safety analysis, thorough assessments and risk evaluation that cannot be found among our existing workforce.
Principle responsibilities include:
- The primary function of the Safety Engineer will be focused on the following:
- Be an advisor for Central Region Distribution Department's(CRDD) Safety Management System. Review Operations and Maintenance safety procedures, develop and recommend improved processes as necessary. Represent the department in investigating plant and near misses incidents.
- Perform hazard analysis and provide risk assessment strategies.
- Review proposals and designs for new installations to determine that these installations can be operated and maintained efficiently, safely and economically.
- Review new facilities during the construction phase to determine that the facilities installed are as designed and are adequate to accomplish the objectives of the project. Initiates corrective actions, if required.
- Review and investigate the performance of individual plants as required to highlight and identify problems or potential problems that may arise. Develop and recommend corrective courses of action.
- Assist in the preparation and review of Operating and Maintenance general instructions.
- Provide technical consultation and prepares special studies on Operational and Maintenance problems and concerns as required by management.
- Assist in the development of Saudis and the training of operations and maintenance personnel in Safety related issues.
- Manage the Safety recommendation tracking database and track performance measures.
Minimum Requirements: BS in Safety Engineering with 7 years experience in oil industry or similar process industry. Experience must be such that the incumbent is clearly recognized as being capable of project and design assignments beyond the ability of the basic professional Engineer.
