Position Description
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Technical Staff division within our Southern Area Oil Operations (SAOO) organization. The engineer will work as an Electrical and Cathodic Protection (CP) Engineer in the SAOO Plants.
The Technical Staff Division is under the Southern Area Producing General Management (SAP GM). It's responsible to produce and stabilize oil through more than 35 onshore gas-oil separation plants (GOSPs) and a central stabilizing facility.
The Electrical Engineer's primary role is to provide technical and engineering support to electrical and CP issues related to plants under SAOO.
Minimum Requirements
As the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelors degree in Engineering from a recognized and approved program.
You should have 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry or similar.
You must have experience in electrical design drawings and control schemes.
You must have knowledge of CP design and corrosion.
You should be familiar with motors, generators, UPS systems, CP systems design, control gears, cables and ETAP software.
Duties and Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:
Review project proposals, design drawings, equipment specifications and proposed protection and control schemes.
Prepare electrical/CP detail design packages for plant modification and upgrades, inspect and commission new electrical equipment, including motors, generators, switchgear, UPS system and power monitoring and CP systems.
Participate in investigation teams in analyzing individual electrical equipment or power system faults.
Assist and direct maintenance technicians in troubleshooting CP systems and electric equipment.
Work with vendor technical representatives to resolve equipment technical problems.
